|Been riding my mountain and hybrid bikes for years and now looking to switch over to some road biking. I don't want to spend a ton of money right up front while I'm trying to figure out if I like it. Any recommendations? Also, how do I go about figuring out the right size?|

|used maybe the better value if you know what you need.
if new check http://www.bikesdirect.com/ or http://www.getawaybikes.com
You can pick entry level bike for ~500$. Pers I'd go for steel frame /Getaway has steel KHS for 500$/ if you decide you like road and want to step up you can still use use steel bike for centuries or back up. If not you can probably recover 1/2 good luck

|Glad to see more riders from Maryland. I live way out at the wetern end on the Allegany/Garrett county lines. I ride both road and mountain and the state has some great roads and trails to offer. Especially out here in the rural western end of the state. As far as purchasing a bike to get into the road scene at a low cost you have to check out the schwinn fastback they are selling at Supergo.com. An incredible deal. Full 105 groupo and a light aluminum frame with compact geometry (sloping top tube like your MTB). This is a deal at $699. All quality parts like ritchey stem, post, bars. Wheels are quality shimano hubs not some third world no name parts common on inexpensive bikes today.
Check it out, order one up and enjoy...
