... this weekend, my Niece became a "Mrs"!!! And it was my honor to give her away!

Because of a tight schedule and a few conflicts... my best option for travel was to hoof out the distance by car (actually my truck)... approximately 800 miles from SW Ohio to the Providence area (and then... back again (I now hate I-95))... a route which, among many locales, took me through the Lehigh valley... and within spittin' distance of the Lehigh Valley Velodrome in Trexlertown, PA. I decided to stop and take a peek on my return...

Alas... on my return, I was a bit behind schedule... arriving at Trexlertown around 5 DST on Sunday... and indeed, it had been raining in the region all day... so I didn't expect to see any specifics (a couple of riders in the area... but no one on the (wet) track)... but it was nice to visit the site and take a few pics.

It's interesting to note that Trexlertown itself is a small (sleepy?) burg... and the velo is tucked serenely behind a nursing home and next to a park... you'd never know it was there unless you were looking for it. Still, since velos are rare in this country... and this one has a bit of history to it (and patronage by our forum's sponsor)... it was worth the few minutes added to my travel time (plus, there were porta johns in the park... right on time).

Nothing special... but here are a couple of memories... I can at least say that I've been to the Lehigh Valley Velo (no room or time for a bike this trip... and as stated above... it done rain'd).

Oh, and the wedding was flawless (because my Sister is an ultra, but successful control phreak)! This is my only Niece... and her Mom's only child... so you know she got the "treatment" (Mom has deep pockets... or else... her pockets will be empty for quite some time). She has married a very fine Navy man... but sadly, their first duty station as Man and Wife will be... Hawaii!

Be the bike.
now why are there not more of those in the country? nmafrican

That's some bank on the far turns. Due to my inexperience on a fixed gear, I could only watch the races a few weeks back (else everyone in my field would've crashed). Can't wait to actually ride on it! Every state should have one.
Can you email me the pictures please?Sprint-Nick

Akirasho,

Could I ask you to email me the full size pictures please? The pictures bring back good memories from when I was there. My email is "nick at podiumbound.ca".

Thanks,
Nick
