What's causing my problem??mxab

A couple of days ago I checked my cassette and noticed that the lockring was loose. So I re-tightened, and now when I'm in my 53 - 24 gear ration the chain wants to jump back down to my small ring in my cranks. My cassette is a 12-27.

Could this be caused because of chain angle or worn chain?

Any advice will be helpful.

Sounds like a chain line issue to me.Spoke Wrench

My first question, as always, is: Was it ever right? If so, when did this problem start? I'm puzzled as to why you think that your lockring might have came loose in the first place.

You might be able to sweeten the chainline by using a thinner locknut on your axle or by putting a spacer behind your cassette. You also may have a slightly bent tooth or two on your big chainring that doesn't show itself until the chain angles that much.
