|Had my first crash last night||superdog|

|Well I've finally moved from the "Haven't gone down yet" to the "Yep, I've crashed" column. I was riding in a time trial and had just crossed the finish line. I noticed a guy just ahead of me on my left going the same direction. Suddenly, the guy pulls a U turn right in the middle of the road without looking first. There was no way I could aviod him. I figure I hit him doing 25 mph. He thinks he broke his collarbone and I landed hard on my left knee, hip and shoulder and broke/cracked a rib.
My knee hurt so bad that I didn't take time to inspect my bike. I was using Zipp 404's and I'll be really unhappy if the rims are damaged.
I don't know what to look for as far as frame problems. I think I'll take the bike to the shop and have them inspect it to see if it is damaged.

|As the saying goes, time heals all. But, time off of the bike sucks. When I bruised/cracked/broke a rib a few years ago, I was able to ride, but found it nearly impossible to sleep. I hope that you have a speedy recovery.
You didn't mention any road rash -- this was a more significant problem for me during the week after my most recent crash than my broken humerus. If you have significant road rash, get some Duoderm patches. They are outrageously expensive (the large ones I needed were $76.00 for a box of 5). But, they saved my butt (literally and figuratively).
