Does anyone know a link to the TDF payout sheet?

Everyone and their mom is asking me how much these guys win, per race, and total for podium finishs...well I just don't know and can't find the info.

Only 400k euros to the winner. 150 gets a whopping 381 euros. That seems extremely low compared to other "sports".

It does seem low, but that's not usually all the winner gets. There's money every day he wears yellow, plus winners usually place highly in the points and mountains competitions, where there's money. They usually win stages or place highly, which is even more money, and they might even take some intermediate sprints or mountain points, for which there is money. 400,000 Euros is just the beginning. But then he gives it all away anyway.

The real prize this year was the Prix du Centenaire. Whoever finished best in each of the original six cities of the 1903 tour won 11,418 Euros, plus the normal 7,620 Euros for winning the stage. Then there was an overall competition for the rider who finished best in all six cities that was worth 50,000 Euros. Considering the payout for winning the green jersey is only 22,867 Euros, it would have been smarter, financially, for sprinters to make the green jersey secondary this year.

Read somewhere that the winner gets $400,000+ which I believe is customarily shared with the team

Doesn't he have a performance cause with Oakley? I read somewhere that if he won, he's get around $1 million
and then doubles the amount with his own $$$. nmnoveread

Lance made $12,000,000 last year, most of it from endorsements.

He gets bonuses from most of his sponsers which I feel certain he will keep for himself.

The race winner gets $250,000 which like you said is traditionaly split between his team members.

That he has that clause in all of his contacts with vendors.

The thing that I do not understand is why he is not over here doing the talk show circuit and taking advantage of the publicity that he got from winning. By the time he gets back from Europe, it is going to be old news...

Just as in auto racing, at the Div. I level, the riders have contracts which pay them a salary and specify how prize money is treated. Generally, prize money goes to the team and then the team disperses the it back to the riders according to the contractual terms. At UCI and major USCF races, a single check for all prize money won by a team's riders is given to the director at the end of the race. Technically, the prize money belongs to the team.
