|Okay, in a couple of days I'll be doing RAMROD-a one day ride around Mt. Rainier,160 miles and 10,000 ft. elevation gain. On training rides I used Vasaline to help "things" out and it worked well thru most of the ride but the last few hours I could feel some chafing starting. Thru some old threads I heard about Bag Balm but am apprehensive about trying out something new so close to the ride. Should I just stick with Vasaline and use more of it or is Bag Balm the way to go. I know I'll be in the saddle about 10 hours or more.
For what it's worth, my trailing edge will thank you!!

|or Chamois Butt'r. No downside at all.
I pull my shorts up around my knees and spread the Chamois Butt'r on the pad heavy. Pull up the shorts & no chafing problems. I use it on any ride over 50 miles. Longer than 100 & I bring some extra with me to refresh.
Try it on a long training ride if your nervous.
