|ok this is a total newbie question but I was wondering what do I lose/gain with each bike. I know the trek is full 105 but the cannondale is all 105 aside from the tiagra front derailure (no biggie). If anyone has strong opinions on either or both of these bikes your advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance....

|the trek is $1050 and its 105 not ultegra as listed on the web, the cannondale is $1100 and is 105 for the most part (tiagra front d, and rear cog (not 100% on cog)).|

|I have an r600 that I have put approx 2000 miles on since Oct. It has performed without any problems other than normal cable adjustments after 100-150 mi. Replaced the tires at 800 miles due to growing sidewall splits (replaced with Armadillos). Replaced the saddle immediately with a Koobi. I have no experience with the Trek, so I can't compare. (disclaimer - I have ordered a Waterford to get a custom fit, 55.5 cm c-c seat tube, 54 cm c-c top for my old body. But I plan on keeping the C-dale.)|

|As for the r600--it a great bike, but see if the shop can swap out the wheelset for you. The stock wheels are... well, crap. If you ever knock them out of true, they're a pain for even an experienced shop tech to fix, and the second I replaced them with Cosmos, I had a very noticible difference in performance.

|I was going to make the same recommendation regarding the GPME's, they suck. Swap 'em out. The R600 is great starting bike, and go for the cool Tangelo, it rocks. good luck|

|Another thought would be a Giant TCR2 which is full 105,
carbon fork, post and stem and this year they have the
Mavic Cosmos wheels (last year was Mavic CXP21s on 105
I saw last years models of these bikes selling for $999
at my LBS.
