Campy question...John445

I have Campy record 10 speed. One of my wheels has a 12/25 and the other has an 11/23. When I switch wheels should I have to readjust my rear deraileur. It seems to run smoothly on the 12/25 but makes noise on the largest 3 cogs of the 11/23. The stops appear to be correct, maybe just the cable tension?

I suspect that the noise you hear in the largest three cogs is the upper pulley running too close to the cassette.

Try the B-tension screw. I think that's what it's's the screw at the back of the derailleur near the point where it bolts to the frame. Tightening it (it pushes on the derailleur hanger) will push the derailleur back so it won't ride so close to the lowest cogs.
Mine too. Weird.Spunout

Because the axle end-bolts are fixed, it is not a question of two different hubs sitting at different positions.

I have a Veloce hub and a record hub, and they need 1/2 turn on the barrel adjuster after a wheel change. It may only be some intolerance in the cassette, body, or axle. Or all three.
you shouldn't need to readjust (nm)ColnagoFE

I'm switching between Chorus 12-25 and Record 11-23 with Record der. No problems and no adjusting between wheelsets.
Possibly one cog set is worn compared to the other (nm)Kerry Irons

Thanks for the replys. Both cogsets are new. I tried tightning (sp) the B-tension adj screw two turns and this seemed to help. I have not tried with the wheel that was originally quiet yet.

Thanks again

I am a mechanic. Are your hubs the same on both wheels? How about the cassett model?

The hubs are different. Mavic Ksyrium, Zipp 404. The cassettes are both Campy Record, one 12/25, 11/23. I tried the B-tension adjuster and it seemed to help. With the 11/23 I tighten 2 turns.

Thanks again
