Mavic Cosmic Carbones and roof racks?(4 posts)

Mavic Cosmic Carbones and roof racks?shrEd

Has anyone out there put their Mavic Cosmic Carbones on a roof rack?

Specifically, I'm not liking the idea of securing the rear wheel and cracking the Cosmic Carbone fairing...

Any suggestions/products/ideas?

Thanks,
Ed

If you're using a long tray style mount, use a toe strap and strap the pedal to the tray instead of securing the rear wheel.

That carbon is just a fairing after all.

hmmmm I would be a little concerned about the plastic on the carbones....however, I put my zipp 404s on my strap long tray and never had an issue. Just dont strap it down to tight thats all. That being said...I am assuming its a fork mounted rack?

I've loaded my Zipp wheels on the roof rack before too. Ya gotta remember that the Zipp is a carbon rim, not an AL rim with a carbon fairing. Different critter altogether.
