|Will a 126mm dropout carry a modern 9 or 10 speed hub?
What is standard these days?

|the surly cross check goes in the middle 132.5mm drop outs for this cyclocross frame .

|Besides Surly, Rivendell is making some frames w/132.5 spacing, and I just bought a set of cheap wheels from Nashbar, for my daughter's bike, that are 132.5. That means you only have to spread/compress each side a little over a millimeter no matter what, and that's nothing.|

|Standard road width is 130mm. If it's steel, it's usually no problem to spread the dropouts 4mm. Aluminum can be harder unless it's an older small diameter frame like a Vitus.|| |
