I have my base in and now I want to add some hill-work. Any recommendations for good climbing rides in Charlotte, NC?

I'm currently training for my first century (Sequatchie Valley), which includes a challenging ascent toward the end of the ride.

Thanks,
Donny

Little bit of a drive but very little traffic about 40 miles of climbing switch backs the whole 9 yards.
If you want directions you can email me at uscf3@mindspring.com

Wilkes-based Brushy Mountain Cyclists Club rides up the Brushies each Thursday evening at 6 if you want company. Visit the Weekly Rides page at http://brushymtncyclists.tripod.com for more info.

Two nice Brushy Mountain loops are described in "Road Cycling the Blue Ridge High Country", available at Park Road Books in Charlotte.
