Hi All.. sorry, kinda long post...

I have Prolapsed Interveterbral Disc [L3,L4,L5] similar to a slipped disc. Had it since 1993, when I had to stop racing for a few years. It kind of healed up for a while, and even when I started racing hard last year and early this year - it was fine. Lately, it has relapsed again. The lower back hurts at times, with sciatica on both legs. Basically, the nerve is pinched by the disc, preventing me form much activity for a while now.

Does anyone else here have this condition? I do not want to undergo surgery for this. I would still want to train and race again. Anyone have any advise, experience, suggestions?

Thank you all. Have a great ride

There has been a lot of talk on it lately. There is a book on how to help yourself. Some say it really works. I just had a discectomy three weeks ago on my L-4&L-5. I lived with it every day for two years and tried all the therapy. I was told by the neuro surgeon that operating on the lower back is very safe. The only thing to worry about is infection and scar tissue. For me, so far so good.

Good Luck
