When Tyler won his stage I noticed that he is still riding the 9-speed dura-ace group. Is his team the only team not to use the new 10 speed stuff. I think that i read that since they did not want to use the shimano wheels (they use ZIPP) they had to pay for thier group sets. thoughts????
I think that there were only two teams to get 10 speed...nmMR_GRUMPY

Probably they did NOT want to try the 10 speed dura ace. What's more important - trying cutting edge stuff or finishing/winning a race?

Dave

btw - cranks are UGLY!

Amongst some others they're also sponsored by SRAM and using their cassettes and chains. No 10 speed stuff available from them at this moment.

I can see Iban Mayo's crank and chainring in a picture while he's on the ground after Lance stacked him up.
Anyone know design reasons/philosophy for DA04 chainring&cranks?fbg111

It's a strange departure from conventional chainrings, but I haven't read anything on why Shimano designed them this way. Anyone know?
