New to road bikes.... Sizes are in 2cm increments. Where exactly is it measured, ie 52,54,56, etc. Thanks.
It depends on the manufacturerDave Hickey

The measurements are the seat tube height. The problem is manufacturers can't agree on how to measure it. There are basically three ways

1. Center of the bottom brack to center of the top tube(ctc)
2. Center of the bottom bracket to top of the top tube(ctt)
3. Center of the bottom bracket to top of the seat collar(also ctt)

Also with newer bikes having compact geometry, some use a virtual measurement. ie: a 45cm compact frame has a virtual ctc measurement of 52cm.

Confusing isn't it?
