I'm thinking about doing this tour in Sept. Since I'm a noob, I will just be doing the 15miles, from now until then what should I do to prepare for this? I don't know exactly where my level of fitness is at as far as distance.

You will qickly find out that 15 miles is not particularly far on a bicycle. I admit, that at first it seems like a lot. But believe me you can probably do that right now with no training. Set your sites on the 35 mi. ride. As far as training, at this point just ride. If you ride for 60 to 90 minutes 4 - 6 six times per week, you should able to do the 35 with no problems by the time of the tour.
