Questions for a cyclist moving to Parissockey19

Does anyone know where I can store my bike (either built or boxed) in Paris, for as little as 2 weeks or as much as 4 months? Price isn't a big concern. Also, does anyone know if I can take my bike (either built or in a box) on the TGV?

I'm moving to Paris for four months at the end of August, and I'd like to leave a week early to do a cycing trip in the south. Here's my plan: have the LBS box my bike, fly to Nice, find a little town to use as a base (with a good LBS who will put my bike together), bike around for a few days, have the bike boxed up again, and take the train to Paris. I need to put the bike into storage once I get there, for various reasons. Does this sound feasible?

Also, does anyone know of a good town near Nice to base myself? It's got to have a good bike shop, and preferably not too close to the mountains. Merci beaucoup!

You don't need to have your bike boxed for transport on the train...they have a car totally devoted to storing bikes.

The center of Nice itself is quite congested, but there are awesome rides all around. Try taking the coastal road east towards Monaco and Italy. The scenary is incredible and once you cross into Italy and past San Remo you'll be in cycling heaven. I forget the name of it, but there is a very good pro shop in Monaco for you to check out. Anyway, almost any decent looking shop could help you out. The only problem you may run into is accomdation at that time of the year. August is vacation time in Euroupe and everyone and their Grandma with be in the South of France, so finding a hotel will be HARD.

Bonne chance.
