I have this removable (via allen wrench) little peg on the inside of my drive side chainstay about 6 inches above the dropouts and like 3/8" long. One of the local shop owner's Seven Axiom also has this little peice of mystery. What is it?? I haven't really seen it on any other bikes, though I probably wasn't looking. At first I figured it was a touring thing (mine's a Cannondale tourer) but the compact Axiom is definetely not built for touring.

If you remove your rear wheel, for example, to carry your bike in the trunk of a car, it keeps the derailleur from twisting around funny.
Awesome, thanks much (nm)Jervis
