Lance Fever in the general population(10 posts)

Lance Fever in the general populationvindicator

So we're at the halfway point of our long ride early Sunday morning replenishing ice and water at a gas station when a good ol' boy looking dude with a bit of Dunlop approaches us and says (begin good ol' boy accent) "I haven't seen the news yet today, how'd Lance Armstrong do?" So we fill him in on Saturday's stage and the overall gc battle, and tell him that they're racing as we speak but we'll watch it tonight on OLN, and there's about a week to go. "That'd just be great if he could win it again!" and he wished us well and went back to his truck.

I guess he's one good ol' boy who doesn't write any sports columns for the Denver Post/!

Glad to see such interest in the general population.

We're having a party Saturday morning to watch the final individual time trial. Looks like it's going to be exciting.
Great idea, and since you're localvindicator

it was the "Moto-mart" down by Six Flags. I have no idea if the guy was local or just passing through on I-44, but I'd guess the latter.

I've noticed your posts references places around town. I live in Oakville. How 'bout you?

Everyone on my block has been watching the TDF on OLN like it's the most fascinating thing they've ever seen. Knowing I ride, and knowing I'm a race fan, my neighborhood friends come up to me to ask about how the Tour operates, strategies, etc.
This TDF is generating a lot of interest.

We were parked on top of Cadillac Mtn. and had our mtb's on the roof. A guy on a Harley pulled up and asked us if we knew what happened on the prologue.

Wish I'd known you were there as that was my first full day back home. I was over on the Carriage Trails but I got to watch the prologue in the emergency room as my brother went over the bars and needed a couple of stiches. Hope you got some ice cream at Ben and Bill's as that is a Bar Harbor can't miss. If you come to the area again let me know as it would be great to get to ride with another RBR'er.
