Tips for a TourMrMonroe

Hello All,
First post and i am looking for some advice on a biking trip. I plan on touring (in my truck) from Boston MA down through PA, NC, TN up through KY, OH and IN to finally park it in Chicago. I am planning on stopping for a couple of days in each state and would like to hit some climbing routes (PA- near Seven Springs, NC - Blue Ridge Mtns, TN - Smokies, OH - ?, IN - ?). Anybody got any pointers re: good books, personal favorites, "forget-about-its". Not scared of gruelling climbs - looking for it. Thanks in advance

a few great places to climb along the blue ridge parkway and some of my personal favorites...beach mountain from the town of banner elk, used to be a stage in the tour dupont. over 5000'. mt mitchell from asheville, from about 2000' to over 6000', punishing. and in brevard, nc from brevard up to the blue ridge parkway along nc 276 following the davidson river, this is perhaps the most beautiful climb in nc, it winds past several large waterfalls and through the pisgah national forest with looking glass rock in the background. there are some good campsites at the bottom of the route near brevard for pay and plenty of free camping. good eats are the clock in brevard.
