|I just got my new Opus Andante, and after a few long rides my rim walls are quite black from the brake pads, does anyone know how to clean this off? Without using harsh paint-peeling chemicals, my rims (Mavic CXP) have a painted groove or channel in the center of the surface.

|Get scotch brite scouring pads (or equivalent) & use a little of any kind of spray cleaner.
Sometimes stell wool leaves little bits that get into the brake pads, or just show as rust.

|put them on your rim, apply the brake, ride around the driveway. Quick/easy way to clean your rims. If the crud is stubborn you can add some type of cleaner (I use citrus cleaner) but it lessens the friction.|| |
