Experience with Tufo Tubular Clinchers?dawgcatchr

HI. Just wondering if anyone has experience with the Tufo Tubular Clinchers (the tires built like a tubular but with a rubber rail to attach to a clincher rim).

Are these comparable in ride quality to a tubular? Ever rolled one? The look kind of intriguing, coming from a guy who loves tubulars but whose new wheels will likely be clinchers.

I ride Tufo tubulars (not the tubular clinchers), but do know someone who has ridden the tubular clinchers. He says that they ride quite nicely, are less prone to flats...but, he did not like the fact that they were a pain to install, and their weight is not light like a tubular. It is also not as easily repairable when you get a flat.

Great idea though, and definitely worth a try.
