Going to Destin next week...good riding there?MVN

My wife and I are going to Destin for a family visit next week and I was wondering if there was any good road riding there. I heard about a bike path/trail there, but didn't get much info on it. Anybody care to weigh in on road riding there? Thanks.

are flat and fast. You can get on some rollers, but have to head north/north west around Crestview and beyond to get to them. Destin roads are full of tourists this time of year, so be careful. Afternoons are windy and hot. It is extremely scenic though and there are paths/wide shoulders available.

But the beach road is pretty nice early in the mornings. I normally go out about 6 or 6:30 when I'm there, just for a quick one-hour eye-opener, and it's not too bad. Between the heat and the traffic, you probably won't be riding later in the day.

There's an MUT that's chock full o' joggers. I'd avoid it.

If you want to head out of town, there's a pretty nice park (forget the name) ten or fifteen miles west of Destin that some people swear by. Never made it up there.
