Anyone have a short riser stem in your junk box that you want to sell?(13 posts)

Anyone have a short riser stem in your junk box that you want to sell?Kristin

I'm shopping for a shorter riser stem for the Trek MTB. I took it out for a few miles this morning and it will fit all right. It came with a 140mm bigass stem--single bolt grrrrr... If I go with a 90-100 riser, I'll be golden. Licton's has a 90mm adj. Zoom for $37. But if you have one you'll never use again and want to make back some $$$, I'll buy. Remember to compensate shipping charges in your asking price.

I have one, but it's probably not worth what it would cost to ship it. $15 at Nashbar:

Some jagoff at Village Cycle Center on Wells in Chicago sold my 5'4" wife a 19.5" mountain bike. A 90cm 140 degree stem helped a great deal.

It's short, but I'm not sure if the quill is long enough for your needs. Do you really want to jack the bars up high? I would imagine on a bike that's a bit too large, you'd be concerned with shortening reach, not raising the bars.

Anyway, take a peek. It's a cheap motha.

yes, that is important info :-) nmDougSloan

How 'bout an ITM Big one?KG 361
Jul 16, 2003 12:14 PM
No,it's not a come-one =) I have a 100mm ITM Big one riser that has only been used 2 yrs. Give me $10 and it's yours. (I'll ship it for that, too.)
Is it a 1" quill? (forgot that little bit-o-info in my post.) nmKristin

I have a Cinelli adapter that is 1" that you could use with the "ahead type" stem. It isn't as stiff as a quill but I suspect that that really isn't an issue. FWIW-it worked fine on my kg 271. I'll sell the whole bit for $15 shipped.
Yes, but..Chen2

It's really short and has a lot of rise, 1"quill. It came off or my wife's bike. I'll need to measure it and let you know. It's HEAVY.
Shipping may cost more than the stem.

Can't hope for much cheaper than that. My wife's hands aren't sore anymore, this is a good thang..
