Valved water bottles(3 posts)

Valved water bottlesPT

Two rides in two days on two different bikes -- two lost water bottles. Unfortunately, they were my wife's favorite bottles, the kind with a unconventional valved top (no moving top, just squeeze or suck to get the fluid out). I got these bottles in schwag bags at races and despite searching the usual suspect's web sites, I've been unable to locate a supply of them.

If anyone understands what I'm talking about and knows where they can be had, please let me know. Thanks!

I like them too. Try this link, go to the belts section.

I used to have a Specialized bottle that worked this way. You could still close the poppet, to seal things for travel, but it had a rubber piece inside with an "X" cut into it, and some sort of valving.
It kept water from splashing out while riding, but let you take a good gulp without opening anything. Unfortunately, the rubber bits were a great place for gunk to grow, and I eventually got tired of soaking the cap in disinfectant, and tossed it.
The Lava ones look neat, though.
