Say it right!....It's Tour Day France...eschelon

Whenever it comes to watching the toob, I rarely ever find there is anything to laugh about. Most people mindlessly watch comedy sitcoms that aren't funny at all...hell, the TV laughs for you, hence the canned laughing noises you hear everytime the stupid actors say or do anything...they pick up a cup and drink from it and then you hear the laugher...stupid. But then I watch the OLN channel and they do these wonderful commercial spoofs of Bob Roll. Like the one where some "TV Producer" guy is trying to coach Bob to say Tour De France...not Tour Day France....too damn funny. And then there's the other commercial where Bob is sitting on his couch looking depressed because he didn't have a hand in last year's Tour and so he wonders aloud what gimmic or angle he could use to make himself more marketable to be a Tour Day France Commentator...when the camera shot goes to him stealing Phil's voice, I was in hysterics.

This guy needs his own comedy variety show.

Watching Roll in front of the mirror with that gap-toothed grin, cocking his head and saying "yeah, Tour Day France". Only he can pull it off. Don't you find yourself just waiting for his next series of linguistic contortions. Sometimes they're masterpieces and sometimes they sound like a spelling bee gone crazy. Always entertaining.

When Bob Roll was asked about an American sweep of the podium in Paris, he said there absolutely would be because "Jan Ulrich has just purchased a trailer house outside of Lincoln, Nebraska".

I was LMAO!! Bob Roll is great.

If he says "GC" one more time, though, I'm gonna punch my tv...
I don't think that's correct..... I believe it is.....rory1

Tour DAYE France....

You forgot the "E" on "Day".....

I love the commercials with Roll in it - kind of remind me of the funny ESPN commercials....
Mmm? Bob Roll speaks pretty good french to me!tempeteOntheRoad

I dare to say that I spoke with him a few years back, and he was certainly decent (in all possible sense). And he seemed to me like a man who enjoyed living in Europe and quite open minded...

Unfortunately I don't have your american program so I don't know how ironical your comment is.

It is, however correct to say "Tour de France"; the phonetic of the word "day" is closer to "des" which is plural for "de"... So I assume Bob Droll is imitating some weird accent?

I would never be offended by a bad accent anyway! Just like I ask for your understanding with my american...

Great tour so far! Watch out for Bettini...
