1. Best commercials:
The boss and Bobke: 'Tour DAY France' pronunciation and 'I didn't go last year and I'll change my ways'-Ligget voice over: very funny, indeed.
2. Eye-candy award:
Kirsten Gum. A fine looking young lady on a cycling show - about time.
3. We've gotta warn the rednecks - award:
Bill Dance trying to ride a bike while telling a large number of very confused West Virginians where their fishing shows went for a month.
4. Runaway-shoes.com (remember that one?)-award:
The voice on the McCormick grill sauce commercials. Three weeks...
5. The 'I had that idea five years ago'-award:
USPS. Finally, one of the Einsteins in charge of their marketing department combined the 'wind nor sleat nor rain nor hail' theme with a cycling team they have just started to sponsor. Brilliant.

But Bob Roll keeps telling me otherwise. "Tour des Frances" (the 'S' is silent at the end of a word when pluralizing it in french) as he says or "Tour de France".

If trying to speak a different language, try to use the proper pronuciation. If bastardizing, keep the whole thing in your own language. "Tour of France" would be acceptable for those too ignorant.
The way I see it,....seyboro

...if you have ridden the damn thing and survived it, you get to pronounce it anyway you want. Especially if you promise to make fun of yourself afterwards. Go Bobke!!
he does it on purpose.rufus

based on some experiences he had while racing in france, bobke pronounces it that way as a jab at the tour, and french cycling in general.

And I think he speaks something like four languages. That is three more than I can speak, so as far as I am concerned, he can pronounce it however he wants.

Should give a dunce award to the people who scheduled the commercial break during Lance's prologue ride - why would you cut out on such a short ride and miss covering the person who most people are watching the race for?

Because in the prologue they can't (are not allowed) have motorcycles with cameras following every rider? So they only have cameras in certain spots anyways?

Not saying that's the best excuse, but it's the best I can think of.

By the way, my fav. commercial of the day was the Clif Bar "Vote for your favorite Domestique" ad. That's a cool way to get some recognition for the guys who normally get none.
