marked graveled corners
sprayed J2's name on the pave
at the high hilltop
july 4 commute
four of us rode to the ride
13 miles distant
early, were we yet
then, record turnout for ride
cyclists, all shapes, forms
some without a clue
some with too much ego, still
few others modest
start in tennessee
ride to mississippi, turn
back to tennessee
thought of MB1
must be nice day in DC
memphis was too hot
thought of my grandma
she would like this summer crop
flowers abundant
thought of those we lost
remembered the sacrifice
forgot the hatred

remembered september day
