Safe to use electric pump?(3 posts)

Safe to use electric pump?BhamBike

I don't have a floor pump for my new bike yet. I am curious if it is safe to use an electric pump for a car that plugs into the cigarette lighter? Too much pressure?
Thanks.

I would think it would be just the opposite: way too little pressure. A car tire requires about 32 pounds of pressure, while a road tire is at about 110 pounds or more. An electric car tire pump doesn't need to be able to deliver a lot of pressure, but it needs to spew out volume.
Yes, if there is a guagegala7516

I have safely inflated my road tires with my protable electric pump and the shrader/presta adapeter. My portable also had a gauge to show the pressure.
