Does anyone have any reccomendations for an LBS in Boulder CO? I'll be there for a week and want to check out some used bikes in the area.

Excel Sports and Vecchios (sp?) and I would definitely stay away from Propelaton.
Neither has used, do they?TJeanloz

Vecchios might have some used bikes. But I think the Boulder Sports Recycler is the only big purveyor of used gear.

Pro Peloton can be fun to look around and annoy the sales staff.
haven't bought a bike for a whileColnagoFE

I bought my last one from ProPeloton which was snobby even back then but at the time Peter still worked there as the wrench and he had the rep for doing first class work on wheelsets and bike builds and they sold Colnagos and Serottas which I was interested in at the time. Since then they have switched owners and the head wrench has formed his own shop (Vecchios). Personally I'd stay away from PP these days. I'd look long and hard at Vecchios if I was in the market for a new road bike. Excel is OK as well and great for hard to find items, but you arent gonna get a lot of personal attention. I got my Merlin XL there. Make sure you know what you want there. Prices are good. Another possibility is Louisville Cyclery if you are willing to go outside of Boulder a bit. Also Wheatridge Cyclery.

University Bikes usually has some used bikes sitting around and good selection of new ones. Sports Garage is a good shop too but focuses more on MTB. Don't think they have any used stuff though.
ProPeloton is the outstanding Road shop in Boulder!DUOHEAD

Tends toward high end but some big wisdom comes outta there!

Wheat Ridge Cyclery in W. Denver about 25 min. from Bldr. also good for road!
ProPeloton is the worst from my personal experience! (nm)msmootsiemartin
