Are 8/9/10 speed Campy parts interchangable? If I had to use 10 speed shifters with other 9 speed components, would there be any problems? Namely, I would like to use a nine sp. cassette and chain with 10 sp shifters. Is this fine? My rear der. is 9 sp.

Cog spacing is 5.0mm for 8 speed,4.55mm for 9 and 4.12mm for 10 speed. A ten speed shifter won't shift a 9 speed campy cogset, but check www.branfordbike.com for parts that might convert the 10 speed shifter to 9speed.

Compatibility issues are addressed at www.campagnolo.com under FAQ.

What are your wanting to do?

You would have to convert the shifters from 10 speed to 9 speed and you must know the model year of the derailleur, since RDs older than 2000 model have a slightly different geometry.

If the old 9 speed parts have enough wear, sometimes it's smarter to just convert to 10 and get it over with.
