|One of the riders here is selling his LOOK 281 2001 frame, headset, and fork for $1300. I made a comment to someone that I saw a better price for the frame a few months ago, so the friend told him I was talking trash.
So the guy with the LOOK 281 want to know where anybody could get a cheaper deal on his 55cm frame. I told him I could remember which website I saw it on, so I lost credit. I remember seeing it for sale on some outback website.
A lot of you guys buy over sea websites. Do you know of any sites still selling LOOK 281 frames? I told him he be lucky he gets $900, since he road it all last year.
Hey LOOK271, this is Borha bike I'm talking about. He got a 53cm and now complaining it's too small. What a goof ball. He has to sell the first frame before he can upgrade joanne's bike parts.
I just can't remember which sites were selling LOOK bikes. Any feedback would help.
Hope your all enjoying this hot weather now, since it finally stopped raining ever other day.

|You missed out on as good ride on Sunday. See biknben's and MB1's ride reports. As far as the 281 goes, Borha is full of sh#t. Nobody sells new 281's anymore. They were discontinued 2 yrs ago. A new 361 (not quite the same bike but not far off) is going for $999. See here:http://www.jensonusa.com/store/product.asp?number=18014
How do you like your 461? I'll hook up with you one of these times on one of Rabbit's rides, I hope.

|Love the LOOK 461. The first bike I ever bought that fits me correctly. I even have a negative degree stem on a bike for once. I get a lot of complements from people because it's the red black model.
Paul kohaus said he like it better than his 381I. I think he meant the color schema, sure isn't the whole bike (he has record and paid over $5000).
I'm trying to tell Borha the same thing as you all are telling me that a new warrenty frame is better bargain than his old 281. He paid $1600 and was trying to sell me the idea that the frame is worth $2400. I don't think he like the idea mine cost under $1400 and was the same as his old frame for shape of tubing.
Hope to see you some time this summer mark.

|I haven't seen anyone still selling 281's. Your price of $900 is more accurate than $1300. Used 281's on Ebay are selling in the $600-900 range. You have to watch a lot of the overseas websites. Some don't update their pages very often. Also, tell your friend that 281's were selling for $1300 NEW on at totalcyling.com 2 years ago.
I just bought another LOOK last week. I going to try out the AL 384. I bought it a Excel and it's supposed to deliver tomorrow.

|And that makes 4 current LOOKs. I can't remember how many I've sold. Hey. LOOK 361, I found a great website. Blueridge is the UK distributor for LOOK. I'm not sure if the attached link will work but go to blueridge.co.uk and click on consumer pages. Click on products and than LOOK. If you scroll down, you can download the entire 2002-2003 LOOK catalog in PDF format. Very cool.

|If you are near a Nike outlet you might want to check them out for cycling shoes. I just picked up a pair of last years Cipressas road shoes and a pair of black and silver mtb shoes for $19 each. They almost never have cycling shoes and I just saw a bunch on the cleaance rack sized from 39 to 46 all for the same price|

|Thank Dave. That was the information I was looking for to pass onto Borha. I couldn't remember the website, since I haven't been surfing for a frame since february.

|The 281 frameset retailed for about $2500 new, but I paid about $1500 new WITH the carbo-stem and seatpost. The 281 is definitely a great frame, but Look's screwy numbering system makes them quite obsolete very rapidly.
The 381i is basically the same thing with an integrated headset and marginally different lugging- but it essentially has identical tubing (although the apparently improved the decals?!?!). The issue is that it has a completely different model number, hence sounds much better/newer- which lowers the resale of a 281. A 361 "sounds" much newer/better, even though it occupies a completely different pricepoint in their product line... oh well, they are French. Contrast this to Trek who has made a 5200 in one incarnation or another for years and years... and the model year is what becomes significant, rather than the model number.
Cheaper deal? That is an odd issue, since they are no longer made.
excelsports.com still sells Looks, and I think jensonusa might as well... I don't think totalcycling still does. WCP sells them at full retail, but NONE will still carry a 281.
