wanna ride thursday late AM-late afternoon?

I have a few days free and would weather the drive for a couple hours turning the cranks with you folks. anybody want to "gather"?

thursday is ideal for J. i could drive in early and be there by mid AM. let's find some hills!

respond here or e-mail cat5tattoo@yahoo.com.

i'm mostly offline this week but will check back at least 1x per day in the afternoon and will respond daily.

word up, yo.

How about meeting at Babler State Park in west St. Louis County and then pounding some hills from there? Let me know where you are coming from and I'll give you directions. I promise you the best riding roads in the area with almost no traffic and an endless barrage of hills. Will about 80 miles do? I'll post on the local web site and see if we can get some sort of group together.
Would love to, butvindicator

Unfortunately this so-called "job" thingie has me behind a desk mid-day Thurs. Also, my fitness is suffering from three weeks off the bike due to separated shoulder (with sporadic stationary riding, just getting back on real bike).

Listen to Rogue, though, there are some beautiful ways to suffer out in the area of which he's speaking, and plenty of fun descents as well. 80 miles out there would kill me these days (if I tried to keep up with you guys anyway), though such rides were what I used to train for the two centuries I did in May, pre-shoulder.

Hopefully next time...
would love to bro, but gotta workFTMD

Can't take off that Thursday since I just took 1.5 days off at the end of last week. I could do Friday, Saturday or Sunday, just not Thursday.

Enjoy yo'self tho.

I have been thinking of a September or October ride. I've even got a map for a relatively flat ride that has route options from 35 to 65 miles. What's everybody think?

the gang's doing the birmingham double century in september. we also put on our local annual club century in september (tho us low-IQers ride one or more weekend centuries in training every month through the summer). the MS150 ride is in late september, and i try not to miss that one, too.

october is coming up fairly open. i'm going to try to ride the Sequatchie Valley Century on oct 4 (i assume that's the date this year). it's in chattanooga. the next weekend i have to be home. the last 2 weeks in oct are looking ok. that's oct 18 or oct 25.

if it came down to oct 4 being the deal breaker, i'd rather ride with you bunch of electrons than drive to chattanooga.

and sucks. and working stinks.

if Spokey is working, i'll have to give everyone a rain check. not that i wouldn't immensely enjoy your company, but riding with ol' Wrench was my main motivator for driving to Arch-ville this week.

actually i have wednesday OR thursday to play with. are both bad, Spoke?

we are still planning the arkansas highpoint ride on saturday. actually, it's going to be part or all of the tri-peaks race route. one of the climbs is 3 miles at 18%, supposedly. if anyone's interested, it'll be around paris, arkansas, starting mid-AM.

Don't put too much pressure on Spokey.Spoke Wrench

Actually, Thursday is a double time pay day because if I don't work all day Thursday I won't get paid for Friday.

I'd LOVE to ride with you sometime to whatever degree I'm able, but it's not false modesty on my part when I say that I'm slow and feeble. I've been really struggling lately. That's one of the reasons why I think a route distance option would be a good idea for a RBR ride in St. Louis. I'm thinking that also may attract a few of the of the not-so-racy brethern and possibly even the oh-so-racy Kristin too.

my intent for driving 650 miles round trip wouldn't be to drop anybody (or be dropped, hopefully).

we'll have to see what future weeks & months bring. i'm off work this week on a lark.

thanks, and sorry 'bout the last minute notice!
