I'm going to purchase my first roadbike and have setteled on a Specialized sequoia expert...the person I am dealing with said Specialized is out of medium's but found a blemished one.... it has a few scratches (I didn't see it yet). Any idea's on what a fair price would be? He's asking 950.

You need to take a look at the "blemish". I long scratch on one of the frame tubes may get you $100-150 off the price of an unblemished model.

Don't expect to get it for free because it has a scratch but it should be marked down. Even a huge scratch won't change the performance and quality of the ride. Just the looks.

Maybe it's something you can cover with a sticker and never see again. Worth taking a look at.

I wouldn't bet on a $100.00 discount for a scratch on the frame though. I've sold lots of bikes like that for about $25.00 off. There is a whole market of people who seek out such slightly damaged stock, especially things like bikes that they assume are eventually going to get scratched anyway. Sometimes they're actually easier to sell than a perfect one.
