I went to the doctor today companing of left groin tenderness and a dull ache in my left testicle. I first felt a twinge in theis area on my roadbike 10 days ago. She diagnosed me with a groin pull and said they are very common with cyclists. Have any of you pulled your starined your groin cycling?? I never viewed cycling as a sport that puts the groin in a position to be hurt .........

I have a twinge in my hip when I rotate my right leg pointing my toe in and out. My GP who is a cyclist, said I should try lowering my seat a bit because at the bottom of the down stroke while climbing, a significant amount of stress is put on the hip flexors. While climbing out of the saddle, some people tend to hyper extend their hip joint (think arched back), creating stress, stretching as well. He said rest, ice, Ibuprofen.
I'm not exactly sure what a groin pull is.dzrider

I pulled a muscle at the very top of my thigh playing tennis and it's painful walking, but cycling, or any other activity where the foot is constantly supported, feels fine. Curiously, if I cough while I'm riding I feel the injured muscle in my thigh. I've had no similar injuries riding and I'm kind of surprised to hear that it's common.
