|Are they allowed to drink accelerade, gatorade, etc.? or do they have to stick with water and energy bars?

|Pretty much whatever they want, within UCI regulations. Lance is an Extran fan, Enervit is big in the peloton, and I guarantee you there's a lot of Euro product we haven't even heard of in the states.
From what I've read, gels are big, but for longer races and stages, they've got to eat solid food. Bars to some extent, but also little sandwiches, fruit, bagels, you name it.

|Lance brings his own chef to cook all meals for the team during the TdF. This includes whatever there is on the feed bags. If a domestique has put a good effort, Lance will let him pick the menu for the day. Saw all this on OLN.|
