|Anyone have any experience with iMACs - CD burning problem||Sprint-Nick|

I'm not sure if anyone has had much experience with iMACs but the people I'm staying with have a iMAC desktop computer... its probably about 2-3 years old.
Anyway when we try to use the burner program that comes with the computer to burn a CD it says insert blank media. So we put the CD-R in thats brand new right off the spindle and it just spits it out. Any reason you can think of? It doesn't make sense to me but do Mac's need special CD-R's?
Thanks for your help,

|if it spits it out without asking if it should be formatted then it doesnt recognize it as a cd-r. does it read other cd's/dvd's without problems? might be the drive itself if its not the media. look in the devices/volumes under system profiler and see if it displays the drive as being supported. or see if it will burn it in itunes instead of whatever program your using, might be the software but it should still mount the disc either way. Macs dont require unique cd's though, I use whatevers on sale in mine.|| |
