I re-read my post below in the Michelin thread about luck. Came back to get me.

I was riding home from work and the tell tale bang and hiss. Broken Budweiser bottle on the road wich I missed. Oh well, nothing new here.

Change the tube and inflate; bang. I mis-seated my spare and it split between rim and bead. Hurrying will get you nowhere fast.

My wife was coming in the car within 5 minutes, so I got the gas-powered assist home. But, when I went to examine the tire fully, it's toast. The cut goes the whole way through the tire and the tube bulges through. A boot shouldn't be used as a permanent fix.

To make matters worse, I'm inflating the tube and break the handle on my floor pump.

Total cost for 1 flat:

2 tubes
2 tires (don't want to mix old / new)
1 floor pump
1 CO2 cartridge

Oh well, bad karma.
