|I'm in fairly decent shape now, with a height of 5'9" and a weight of 145lbs. At my prime, I ran cross-country in high school and ran between 35-40 miles/wk.
I haven't ran in quite sometime, and take my mountain bike out about two or three times a week, but I really don't know how far I travel.
I'm purchasing a bike this week, and would like to know how to SAFELY begin my training.
Pre and Post activites for road biking?
Anything else applicable or helpful ?!

|whatever you don't, you don't need to hire a coach.
Say from CTS or one of those other fly by nite outfits. Just get Joel Friel book "The Training Bible">
Got everything you need right there.

|don't let anybody kid you. the only things that matter are that you're not wearing a full team kit and that you sport an attractive bar/stem combo. as long as you have that setup right, you can't go wrong.|

|What qualifies as an attractive bar/stem combo? I have got to know this (note, some sarcasm here).|
