Considering my desire to log rides pretty much subsides by mid February.

Of the >100 mile rides I've done this year, three have been doubles. Only one organized double metric (Taste of the Devil, easy version of Devil Mt. Double) and only one organized century (Grizzly Peak.)

Above and beyond that, I think I've done nine solo, self-supported 100+ rides this year.

I rode the West Wales '100' (a time-trial) and did it in 5.08:03 and can't believe how good I feel today. But yesterday! The event headquarters was about one mile from the finish and riding back a worm could have pedalled faster. I haven't done any distance rides for about five years now and realise that I've missed the sense of achievement but perhaps not the pain and suffering.

Did a century with a mate about 4 or 5 weeks ago on the spur of the moment. Steve (the guy I rode with) wasn't feeling too good so I went on the front for about 75% of the ride. Good rolling route (from Bristol, SW England where I live, up to Gloucester, across through the Forest of Dean to Monmoth, and back down the Wye Valley). Only one real climb to speak of, did it in 6 hours exactly which I was quite happy with as hadn't ridden that distance for about a year and we weren't pushing it.

Thinking of doing the same ride on my own this Sunday if the weather is ok and I can haul myself out of bed at some ridiculous early hour (have to be back before lunch as have two small kids and lots of family stuff to do).
Ouch......a 100 mile TTMR_GRUMPY

I don't even want to think about it.
If 100.2 and 100.5 centuries count, I've done 2:-)Dave Hickey

1 century was only 99.8 miles so I won't count that..

None but longest was 85 last week. East coast weather has been horrible this year for cycling and has cut down on # of rides.
The number of > 100 miles rides is inversely proportional ....PeterRider

... to your number of neurons.

2 x 200km, 4 double centuries, 2 x 400km, 1 x 600km.

I did my only century this year at the Larry Schwartz Memorial/Collin Classic. 103.3 miles, rode the last 55 solo. No stops, finished in 5:21. More "slow" than "fast" that day.
3 - Solvang, SLO Wildflower, and Sequoia ... real slow rider though (nm)!VW

Did Mt. Hamilton earlier this year. 20 mile climb plus 43.5 miles after the climb. After crossing finish line I waited for my teammate to finish and then we rode back to the car via a shorter ~40 mile route. Ended the day with about 105 miles, not including the 20 minute warm up. Total time was 5:36.

When are you going to ride with us again. We have a great in town century and last Sunday we rode to Harpers Ferry and back (130 miles).

I'm healthy and ready to ride. Let us know when you want to get together.

Thanks for the invite, I definatly want to ride with you guys.

-Accident 9/21/02 - Off the bike until 12/21/03.
-Traveling Monday thru Thursday every week, working long hours, Fridays I end up on the phonr from 7:00am thru 6:00 pm.
-Rain every weekend since December 21 with exception of last two weeks = reduced riding
-4 Kids, Wife, graduations, weedings, funerals, other assorted family responsibilities coupled with only being in town 3 days a week = reduced riding time.
-Back and shoulder are still not healed enough to do more than about 3.5 hours at a time, it really sucks.
-Last year thru June 21, I had 5,100 miles and 11 centuries in (9 solo), this year I have 1,500 miles and no ride longer than 75 miles in.
-Had to bail on Tour DeMontes this year (Never would have made it).

I am very depressed about my fitness and not sure I could last on one of your 125 mile Saturday rides. I don't want to hold you guys back & ruin one of your Saturday rides. Now that the weather seems to have broken, I am going to try to extend me riding a little each week (Back willing). Hoping to be ready for you guys by mid summer. I'm also targeting your NCA ride in October.

I will make it back, it just is going to take longer than I thought.
