Maintenance for Bianchi Brava(4 posts)

Maintenance for Bianchi Bravamingus333

Hi,
I have a couple of questions. I have a Bianchi Brava. How often should I get it tuned up or serviced? I have about 350 miles on it. Also, are there relatively inexpensive things I can do to it to improve its performance such as putting on a different derailleur (sp), tires, etc. Thanks, James

A new derailleur won't improve performance, at least not in a way that will affect your riding. Ride and enjoy it as is, and that will give you the most bang for the buck. In a couple of seasons, you'll be able to decide whether you want to get a swankier ride or just enjoy the Brava.

If you are keeping your drive train clean and lubed, you shouldn't need any service for 2,500 miles or so. The only exception is that if the drivetrain seems noisy, they can adjust your derailleur for you (or you can learn to do it yourself; it is not hard). If the wheels spin true and shifting seems clean, no worries.

Conti Supersonics will save you 8.6 seconds in a 40k time trial. Hope this helps.
