Kinda of interesting in new issue of velonews I got today has a table of physical stats of top 3 place giro riders.
yes they are small gosh.

Simoni
Age31
Height 5'7"
weight 125
percent body fat 4%
resting heart rate 50
power at threshold (watts) 380

Percent body fat 3.7%

Percent Body Fat 5% guess because he is so young still has that baby fat LOL

anyways thought it was kinda of interesting lean and mean thats the bottom line.

...This is pretty interesting. I'm sure these are "before" stats. I wonder what the "after" stats would be for wt & body fat?

L know this isn't the fitness forum but Simoni's resting heart rate of 50 a little high for a world class cycist?

The Vuelta got really good TV ratings last yr by including the Angliru mega-climb. The Giro emulated that this yr with the Zoncolan stage. Both those stages were more or less decisive. When such climbs dominate, I think you can expect to see only 130-pounders on the podium.

5'7" 125lbs
5'9" 132lbs
5'8.5" 135lbs

I was bigger than all three of these guys when I was in 5th grade! My dreams of a polka dot jersey are gone forever :-)
