just a boring question for a boring rainy Florida day. My longest ride ever was the Ironman 112 miles in November.

Did you do this in a team effort? If not, you are selling yourself waaaaaay short.

Remeber, most folks equate 1 mile of running to 3 miles of biking, so add another 78 miles to that. Then, if you did the 2 mile swim, who knows what that equates to, but I suppose 1.5 hours in the water may equate to 30 miles on the bike, so add yet another 30.

Put it all together, how about 220 "weighted" miles...

I rode from Chester New Jersey to Cape may in one day. Of course it was summer (over 14 hours of light). But I've had more 100+ miles days than I can remember. 142 is my biggest day on a tour. I believe I could easily ride 200 in a day. I'd like to be able to do two 200 mile days consecutively.

336 miles back when I was a youngster in 1994, the next weekend I did a 232 mile ride. These days I take it easier but still have my eye on setting a personal best this year.

205 miles Seattle-to-Portland... Wife made a funny observationPdxMark

She was parked along the road about five miles from the end. She marveled at how bad each rider looked as he or she rode by, with one exception. The stoker on a tandem, a woman, was merrily waving to the observers as they rode by. Eveyone else looked like h3ll, hot, tired... including the captain of that tandem.

Three of us the year I completed the ride - the year before I made it 200 and had to quit because of knee problems. 23.5 hrs, and it rained for 12 of them. Quite miserable indeed. One of my headlights burned out and the other stopped working in the rain. Riding at 4am in the dark in the rain is not what smart people do. We had left Orono at 12:30 AM, and I couldn't get a nap in beforehand. The rain slowed us down and we didn't get to Burlington until 12:04 AM the next day. Awake for 40 hours. I recall climbing a hill in NH and yelling "If i don't get some coffee at the top of this hill I'm going to pass out."

That is likely close or a little low. I am pretty sure I haven't hit 400,000 miles yet.

My longest ride is 113 miles; the Cherohala Challenge Century. And 10,000 feet elevation gain. Last year was my first time to do this ride and my longest ride prior was only 82 miles and maybe 3500 ft elevation gain. Big difference.

I have not yet had any reason to go further but it is in the cards for next year.
