Hey everyone! Out of curiousity, I was wondering what everyones top speeds are, like an all out sprint, on flat ground. Please list what bike you have, also.

35mph without leadout.
When in form, 40+mph with leadout, or in races.

So far? not fast enough to win anything.STEELYeyed

Serotta TT bike, HED3's, dead calm wind on a true flat I could probably top 40, but wouldn't be able to hold it for any length of time. My avg. on a 10mile rolling TT is about 22mph.

On the flat, dead calm, solo with my Trek 2300 I've hit 34mph my best average over 10 miles was right at 20mph so you ARE fast enough to win against me. If only all races where populated with 36 year old, ex 15+ year smokers like myself we could both roll in the cash ;-)
What are these "flats" you speak of? (nm)PseuZQ

not real all-out sprint ~35mph sustained chasing tandem on TCR. can't maintain it for more then couple min just enough to catch the train. I had never trained for top speed nor have any interest in asthma inducing workouts :)
pretty darn fastchar

I ride a Colnago Dream Plus. The wheels are Campy Chorus- Mavic Open Pro, three-cross in rear, one cross in front. I have a favorite stretch of road where I usually see how fast I can go. When I rode Conti GP3000 tires, my flat road sprint max was usually around 32.5 mph. When I changed to Michelin Pro Race tires, my max instantly went up to 35. I always do my fastest when I'm running my gears in 53-15. If I go to a higher gear combo, I just run out of leg moxie.
