I bought a pair of shimano shoes. They are made to be able to walk in. So I'm wandering what about you guys that have shoes with the cleats exposed. What do you do when you want to stop at the convenience store to refill on fig newtons and water? This boggles me.

take off shoes or walk like a duck.

I bought road shoes to ride a bike. i don't do much walking, in fact, on bike rides.

frequently i'll carry kool covers, plastic covers that fit over the pedal cleats that i use. they protect them from walking-induced wear. the back of my shoes has a small rubber plate to protect the sole. but i still walk like a duck.

i've tried mtb shoes and pedals on the road bike for longer rides, but went back to road shoes & pedals.
