|Question about sizing on Sidi Road Shoes.||berrywise|

|I have been a long time mountain biker but just this past month bought a Fuji Roubaix Pro so that I could start putting in more miles on my bike as well as to do some commuting to work.
Right now for the time being I have been running my mountain pedals and shoes but would like to buy road shoes and pedals.
I really love my Sidi Dominator mountain shoes and was wondering if the sizing is the same for their road shoes. My local shop doesn't sell Sidi so I can't try them on and I will have to mailorder. I would like to know beforehand that I am ordering the right size.
Anyone using Sidi mountain and road shoes? If so do they match up sizewise?

|but don't quote me on that. ;-) when i was looking for road shoes i tried on the Dominators because they didn't have my size in the Genius 4's. i ordered the Genius's based on this & they fit.
haven't seen you lurking around mtbr recently!

Yep haven't been lurking like I used to. Mostly because I went through a little funk where I hadn't been riding my bike. I just got back from a two month trip to Europe though and it really revitalized my cycling passion. That and going back to work at the shop always helps out on that.
Hopefully I can get the road bike thing down so I can really get my legs back,

nice to hear the passion to ride has returned. road miles will certainly kick your butt back into shape.
happy riding (and lurking)

|I have been a LONG time user of Sidi shoes. The sizing is consistent between the road and mtn shoes. The only catch is that Sidi changed their lasts sometime in late 1997. They made the shoes slightly wider with a more pronounced arch "bump" on the inside of the sole.
How do you tell? The easiest way is to check the graphics on the side of the upper heel of the shoes (the very top of the back of the shoes). If they have the "curved lightning bolt design" (like the current shoes) then the shoes are on the newer last. The older generation lasts have shoes with heel graphics that are kind of a triangular/linear design.
For the MTB line, the original Dominator was on the old last, the Dominator 2 existed on both old and new, and the Dominator 3 and 4 only exist on the new last. If your MTB shoes are on the older last, you might want to consider one half-size smaller with the new shoes. I went from a 44 in the old last, to a 43.5 in the new last. But if your shoes have the lightning bolt heel graphics, get the same size and you'll be fine.
