|Hello everyone, Thanks for the advice on the touring bikes. Right now I'm doing some well needed reading and money earning so I can afford to buy what I want. Has anyone considered having a custom frame made from Aerolite out of Titanium? Are there any problems with having a touring frame made from Titanium?? I know some touring bikes are made from Aluminum. Obviously Titanium presents problems with brazing (impossible to braze) and repair issues for stress cracks. I'm interested if anyone has considered a titanium touring bike.

|That Airborne looks like it might be a nice frame for touring. I would think that Ti would be the ideal material for touring, but there is nothing wrong with steel either. A real touring bike cannot be made from aluminum as it would either be too weak or too stiff.|

|...Cannondale has made plenty of "real" touring bikes for years. They've been really well received too. I'm not sure a touring bike can be too stiff when dealing with all of the weird loading that carrying an extra 40+ pounds over the wheels puts on the frame and fork.
