|Busted Ksyrium.......WTF??||Screaming Barfy|

|After an easy recovery ride Monday I noticed my rear Ksyrium SSC was a little wobbly, so I had it trued up and ready to go for a crit last night. 35min into the crit the whole thing goes to hell and two of the spokes have completely ripped out of the wheel.
I never recall hitting anything exceptionally hard, I'm 190lbs and have about 2000 mi on these wheels. I'm pretty pissed such a "bullet-proof" wheel fell apart so easily.
Is there any reason I shouldn't expect Mavic to replace it? Has this happened to anyone else?

|One set is 1.5 years old, never trued. I have raced in them and hit a plethora of potholes. Another set (came with a new bike) is 6 months old. They were knocked slightly out of true after a horrible crash but no problems since. I'm not sure about Mavic's customer service since I have never needed to contact them. Good luck.|

|I am on my second set of Ksyriums and just recently had a problem with the rear wheel. I kept having spokes all but fall out. So I contacted them and sent the wheels back through the guys at my local shop. I explained to them what the problem was and told them that this was my second set and had not experienced any problems up until now. They rebuilt the front and rear wheel free of charge no questions asked. They paid for the shipping and did all of the work in only one week. I figured I would be riding my other set of wheels for at least a month but, they really hooked it up. Just give them a call or have your bike shop give them a call and explain the situation. I have had a great experience with them and will continue to business with them in the future.

|Mavic reps relays on LBS on determining if it is warranty. If LBS cares for your business they would get you new wheel.|

I once got them in Banff one winter, although I would not say they are exclusive to Canada.
I'm sure 'barfy can elaborate his experience.
(sorry S-barfy, I don't have any WI photos in digi format)

|(as rockbender has eluded to) you're ice climbing for so long that your hands become numb, and when they thaw out at the top of the pitch there are only 2 things to do.....scream and barf. One of the worst pains I've ever had--got them on the North Ridge of Mt. Baker in WA last summer and have always loved the term.
I take it you'll be at Union City this weekend as well? Who should I look for?

|I'm a little smaller than you and had a few less miles on them, but the same thing happened last month. I took it to my LBS, they sent the wheel off, and two weeks (and 35 dollars) later I got it back. New rim, new spokes, same old hub.|| |
