|I will be involved with several 24 hour events...as part of a team. I would like to use a recovery drink after my laps, so that I don't keep depleting my resources. I am a vegetarian and very concerned about the quality of the products I ingest. I wonder if the soy "energy" products/ powders will suffice. What is it that I should look for in a quality recovery product?|

|Don't take my advice point-blank as I'm not even close to the point of being able to participate in a 24 hr event, but I've been downing one or two High Protein Ensure's after some of my longer rides. 6 g fat (0.5 g sat fat), 290 mg sodium, 500 mg potassium, 31 g carb (19 g sugar), 12 g protein, and also fortified with vitamins and minerals.
I suspect you need way more than Ensure, however! I only comment because I'm curious to know what thoughts others have about using Ensure as a "recovery" drink in general.
