|Mayo just attacked Armstrong on the Galibier and is putting the hurt on... Aremstrong has fallen back and can't seem to make up the widening gap... nor can he shake the other riderrs (Turpin, Mancebo, etc. ) that have bridged up to him.
Mayo is on fire!

|Armstrong down 30 seconds at the top of the Galibier-- from the look on his face, Armstrong=unhappy camper -- Mayo looking easy. Probably will regroup on the way down|

|Not ideal situation for Armstrong Mayo and Mercado (Banesto) at the front keeping Armstrong at bay... Armstrong is making up ground now -- 90-100kms and hr. w/ Mancebo in his wheel. Looks like the Spaniards are finally ganging up. New time split - 17 seconds, Armstrong's not using his brakes on this one!|

|Armstrong is smokin! Obviosly he had his mech. put on the old brakes b/c he is barreling down the mountain. Still w/ Mancebo and only 9" down from Mayo?Mercado -- they will be rejoined soon in the shallow descent before Briancon. Jaja doing color commentary for french TV he's riding a motocyle behind Armstrong) just he's blown away by the risks Armstrong has taken on the descent.|

|The two Banestos, Armstrong and Mayo regrouped in the Valley. Mercado took off and Armstrong and Mayo just looked at each other. So much so that 17 other riders caught up to them (Millar incl.) and now they are all looking for second place behind Merrcado who will likely win. The Armstriong group is in the last 3 kms.|

|Mercado pulls it off. Mayo places another strong attack in the Gargouille climb inside the Briancon city walls. Armstrong could not respond and loses a few seconds. Mayo was phenomenal today!
