OCR vs. TCR(4 posts)

OCR vs. TCRJeff Rage

Still lokking for a bike. The Giant's geometry seems to fit me best. I noticed the OCR1 and the TCR2 are very similar. What is the difference is the frames of these two bikes? The only one I noticed is a 1" headset for the OCR and a 1 1/8" fo rthe TCR2.

I relaize someone started a similar thread before, just wondered if anyone else had input.

You pay the extra money for the better frame quality in the TCR. Its lighter, but more importantly its stiffer under drive. If you get the OCR, ditch the adjustable head and replace it with a non-adjustable one. I have it a TCR2 and its great. The only thing that I didn't like was the wheels so I got a pair of kyrium elites instead of the cxp22.

At the end it all depends on how much you want to spend and whether if you can make do with the OCR frame. I'd say save up a bit more for the quality. The bike will last you for a while.

Dopped by a LBS today, and they told me that the TCR may be too stiff for me, since I'm only 126 lbs., and that the OCR may be a fbetter frame for me.

In addition to frame material, look at the welds, overall finish, etc. The TCR 2 also has a shorter wheelbase, so much so that the seattube has an indent for the rear wheel. The OCR has a more relaxed geometry. Ride them both again, one will be what you're looking for- they're not the same!
